New Delhi
I am happy to learn that the Children’s Film Society,
India is organizing its 16th edition of the International
Children’s Film Festival called “Golden Elephant”
from November 14-20, 2009.
Films have a tremendous influence on the minds of children
and have the potential of becoming a powerful medium to provide
value based entertainment as well as education. Films made
especially for children can go a long way in weaning them
away from the detrimental effects of commercial cinema. I
am sure that this year the festival will be even more entertaining
and children will be treated to the best of films produced
the world over.
On this auspicious occasion, I extend my greetings and felicitations
to all those associated with the Society and wish the Festival
every success.
