Synopsis
:
The film is based
on a tale from Panchatantra ( 3rd-5th century AD)
– a collection of animal and magic fables
based on ancient Indian folk tales, and animated
in an ancient and dying-out folk art style called
“Sanjhi.” Around the 17th Century there
was a tradition to encourage unmarried girls to
do Sanjhi paintings in order to obtain a suitable
groom.
Then one had to set the paintings
free in the river for the Universe to bless it.
It was considered a ritual worship and was originally
practiced as one of the traditional methods of creative
visualization to fulfill one’s wishes.
This story is about a journey of
a father in search of a suitable groom for his daughter.
