After a big tuna fish gulps up a school of little Swimmy’s friends, the small back fish journeys through the ocean and sees many marvelous creatures. After meeting with a school of frightened fish, Swimmy uses his creativity to show them how to swim together as a group and outsmart the big fish. This classic of animation was created by the noted Italian designer and children’s book writer Leo Leonni.
Director’s Biography: Leo Leonni
Internationally known illustrator, designer and graphic artist Leo Leonni was born in Holland and studied in Italy until he settled in the USA IN 1939. His books, with their gentle poetic stories and visual beauty, have won wide praise from young and old alike, and gathered innumerable awards and honors. He has been President of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the head of the design department of the Parson’s School of Design, and for many years the art director of Fortune magazine.
